Lord of the Rings V.S Harry Potter

I personally think that between them, the books and the movies of Lord of the Rings are the clear winner. But everyone is entitled to their opinions and I was a bit curious as to how everyone else felt about this subject. So here it is which of the movie adaptations do you like most? Which series is your favorite?

Ok, here is my opinion.
(Slightly off topic D: ) i think the book versions of HP are better than the book versions of LOTR. I just think they are written better and have a better story line (that being said, I haven't read the 3rd book of LOTR, so I dont have all the info on the books that I would like, I dont know fi the 3rd book bring it all together or not)... but ERAGON PWNS ALL!!! (Sorry, it had to be said *shrugs*)

(Back on topic) The movie addaptions of LOTR are better than HP, sure HP is newer and the effects are somewhat lacking in the LOTR movies compared to HP movies (not that much compared to most movies though o.o) but the scale and magnitude of the movies themselve makes up for what it lacks, and them some. If I had a choice between a HP marathon, or a LOTR marathon, i would take LOTR every time. It just never gets old, not matter how many times you see it

Well, both are really the great entertainer for all time. But according to my opinion Harry Potter is really the more interesting than Lord of the Rings. I really love the story line and special effects of Harry Potter so much. It's really lovely scrip movie series.

lol both the movie are from different genre...one is for growing up kids and the other one is a true adventure and war version...but of course i would said lord of the rings is better as the director has plan every single scene properly to like it with another scene...as for harry potter the directors do not have such privilege as they need to summarise and release the movie asap...usually like within one or two years from the book release....

Since the lord of the rings book was completed long time ago...peter jackson have took a long time just to summarise the plot,finding the right background as the scene (new zealand) and also in creating good costume for the show....when all these are combine into one movie it will be an unique movie like lord of the rings

I just watched the HP movies recently and I came to like them. But I still like LOTR better. =) I guess I already watched the trilogy for the nth time already, but I never get tired of it.

Though both are great in their unique storylines.. i too, feel that LOTR is better than HP..
With the books on the otherhand, my opinion changes. But both are extremely good despite which is better.

Harry Potter, because the books, IMO, are more interesting, and more inviting to read.
(although, I do have a copy with Tolkien's original sketch on the cover of the Hobbit)
